i thought "fascist socialists" was an interesting combination.
as a personal comment to your question, i originally subscribed to vision
2020 thinking it might be a good forum to discuss managed and logical
growth. i am a bit disinchanted lately with what i perceive to be a
definite no-growth "bent" to some of the discussions. if i'm feeling that
way, i can only wonder how an "outsider" might perceive the group.

As a professional survey researcher, social scientist/economist, regional
planner, university colleague of Jack Wenders, and reviewer of the
report he criticizes, I feel called upon to respond to his column in last
weekend's Daily News. In addition to the fact that he obviously didn't
read the survey report (as Greg Brown notes), I'd be interested in
hearing any other points anyone out there has. I've quite a few myself,
but since he slams Vision2020 as "fascist socialists," I thought I'd ask...
