I am interested in the photo contest idea, and hope to attend the June 12
meeting. If this is to work this summer (showing at Farmer's Market
this fall, etc), we must get started.
My suggestions:
we should start lining up prizes now for contest winners. Gifts
from local businesses and individuals.
limit the contest to Moscow photos
encourage all ages
submission of 4x5 or 5x7 color prints with name of photographer
on label on back
photos on bulletin boards at fall Farmers Market, winners
determined with votes by sticky dots system
request right from all entrants to use photos (with credit) in
future publications, etc.
2 categories--macro and micro--for scenes smaller than a city
block or larger
photos entered as good examples of what moscow should be or bad
examples (thus 4 total categories)
encourage coverage of contest by local media, including
explanation of why doing contest, use of photos, etc
