In response to the inquiries today from Bill and Roger about "why Pullman?"
I offer the following:

1. The original rationale for including Pullman was that Pam Palmer and I
hoped that images generated this summer could be used in one segment of
the fall series "A Tale of 2 Cities" to be sponsored by Moscow and Pullman
libraries and UI enrichment program. (The theme is designed to let us
learn about different concepts of community in each town.)

2. Several subscribers to the list have pointed out good and bad examples
of planning in each town (i.e., the culdesac of duplexes in NW Pullman in
which the only thing visible from the street is a wall of double garage
doors.)

3. One of the major factors influencing population growth in Moscow is
rising enrollment (and employment) at WSU.

4. Lots of Pullman folks come to the Farmers' Market and we'd like them
to think about those issues, too.
