After reading various suggestions I keep coming back to Kenton's--that this
issue can best be handled by interested parties sitting down (with or
without a professional mediator), being heard, and listening to others. I
missed the start of this controversy so don't know who is involved or what
efforts were made to prevent this from reaching this point, but I wonder
(and I mean truly wonder--not "I think this is what happened") if the
individual who complained ever felt like he was really being heard until
now. Maybe he would be amenable to a compromise now that he has our
attention, so to speak.
Another thought I had while driving past the park this morning is that maybe
it would be OK to move the Renaissance Fair and Rendezvous to Robinson
Park. I'm not sure the stage is appropriate as is, and power might be a
problem, but there's plenty of room for people and parking and only a couple
of neighbors.
