The subcommittee of the Latah County Planning & Zoning Commission dealing
with public participation in the rural-residential rezoning process will
meet:
FRIDAY, FEB. 10 - 4 p.m. - Room 2-B, Latah County Courthouse.
The topic will be to discuss ways of getting public response to the ideas
for clustering, open space preservation, and alternatives to one house
per 40 acres that another subcommittee has been studying.

One of the main ideas we have been working with is doing a 4- or 8-page
newspaper tabloid for insertion into the Daily News and for distribution
throughout the county. Another possibility is to conduct "focus" groups
with representatives of various "stakeholder groups," such as farmers,
small-scale loggers, real estate agents, builders, conservationists, etc.

Vision 2020 has agreed to assist the P&Z in this process, but we need
volunteers and new ideas to help. If you are at all interested in keeping
the Paradise Valley from Moscow Mountain to Paradise Ridge from being
subdivided into 5-acre ranchettes, please come to this meeting Friday. It
will not last past 5:30 p.m.

If you can't attend, but have suggestions, please respond to me or to
Steve Cooke at the UI. Thanks, KENTON
