This year the Mardi Gras committee wants to involve more people in the
festival and is sponsoring a Poster design contest for the upcoming event.
Posters should be colorful and express the spirit of Mardi Gras. The winning
designer will not only have their artwork used in all the Mardi Gras ’98
publicity but will also receive $50.00 and two tickets to the evening
festivities. The contest is open to anyone in the Palouse area. Entries
should be received by October 24, 1997 at the KZFN studios or at the Mardi
Gras PO Box 8301, Moscow, ID 83843.

The Moscow Mardi Gras is a non-profit organization which donates proceeds of
the event to local youth organizations. 1996 the Mardi Gras donated over
$6000 to local youth actives such as Boy & Girl Scouts, the Moscow Jr. High
Track renovation project, and the Chipman/Palouse Trail.

The Mardi Gras Committee has also created a Web site, donated by Cactus
Computers, to keep everyone informed on what is happening with the event.
