Proposal for a new list

Visionaries,
Is there any interest out there in starting a new list server that would 
contain announcements of community events, without commentary?  I'd like to 
hear about candidate forums, meetings, concerts, etc., without having to 
sort through the daily exchange of opinions that Vision 2020 has become.  
(In other words, this would be a news and information service, not a forum 
for extended debate.)

I am approached at least once a week by someone who formerly subscribed to 
Vision 2020 but can't keep up with the volume.  I know there are others who 
continue to subscribe only for those rare nuggets of news (such as Jon 
Kimberling's recent report on the status of the fire station) that haven't 
appeared elsewhere.

and when something else emerges.
