Fire Station 3

The fire station #3 design committee received an update on the status of the project last night from the architects. We were hoping for a schedule that would have allowed the site work to be completed this fall and construction through the winter. Unfortunately, that time table did not work out. Concerns about the soil and wet conditions through the winter coupled with the fact that excavation contractors seem to be very busy at present lead to the decision to go with schedule #4 that provides for construction to begin next summer. Some of the key dates are as follows:

 

1/28/03       Project bid date

3/4/03       Bids due

4/1/03        Bid award

6/24/03       Construction begins

1/19/04       Project substantially completed

2/19/04       Facility ready for use

 

Obviously, these dates are subject to change. The architect's estimate place the project cost in line with the amount of the levy. We are working with them to place photos and information abut the project on the city website. Once posted, I will let you know.
