RE: 1912 Building

Visionaries,

It is my understanding that the City subsidized the original Community
Center - at City Hall. It was my understanding that the City agreed not to
participate financially in the rehabilitation of the 1912 Center, but might
participate in the operating costs of the City's new community center.

I personally don't have a problem with the City assisting non-profits with
operating costs by providing a subsidized place for them to have office
space and provide services. The Senior Center and Friendly Neighbors are
great examples of this cooperation. The City is developing a sound
business plan that will allow the taxpayers to clearly see how much and for
what agencies subsidies are planned.

I applaud the City for having this discussion and encouraging us to
participate.
