P8ublic education and critics

Ah yes, free public education does not exist. We pay for the education of
the community's children, and our own. How much does the class supply list
cost these days?

The community is paying for the education of MSD children, a per year amount
coming close to $8000 per child. More than half that amount coming from
local property taxes.

Who should pay and how much has been the central core of months of
discussion, with many a side trip down various philosophical pathways.

I support the basic concept of public education, and abhor the idea of
privatization, but I also support the concept that public education needs to
educate first.
