RE: tax breaks
Douglas (no name or city mentioned) stated:
"Take the school systems of the inner cities, for example. How many
thousands of kids graduate from these institutions annually with an
inability to read their own diplomas? Why make them sit in a classroom for
twelve years? They already didn't know how to read."
Douglas, the problem is not the system in general. The problem is that some
(not all) public schools have graduated (advanced to the next level)
students without thoroughly testing their capablilities. This is not only
true of the public schools, but private schools as well. A recent survey at
Stanford University showed (and a professor was quoted as saying) that
Stannford was afraid to give out F's as it might disturb the students'
psyches.
We must weed out these schools (and teachers) and force them to do what they
are paid to do: teach.
Douglas (no name or city mentioned) also stated:
"In the debate between private and government schools, it is completely
beside the point to say that if we went to a system of private schooling,
then millions of disadvantaged kids would not get an education. That is what
is happening now. They are not getting an education now. You know, as in
right this minute."
Care to cite your reference(s) reflecting that millions of disadvantaged are
not provided an opportunity at an education through the public system? Or
is this simply you saying, "Hey, look at me say something ignorant."?
Waiting . . .
