Dear Moscovites:

I would like to 2nd Andriette Pieron's recent posting. I am sick and tired
of the debate which the city "fathers" have fomented within the community.
The Public Nudity Ordinance is a dumb, reactionary, and most likely,
unenforceable ordinance which singles out specific populations within our
city in which public nudity is extremely rare. I have fretted about the
legality of the dress of my women friends, and have been embarassed as my
cohorts and friends around this country have called me to find out, "do
people walk around Moscow nude?"

Again, I am calling for not just overturning the "Public Nudity Ordinance,"
but serious debate, and action for the removal of the council and mayor who
made such bad decisions when so many very important issues loom before our
community. If I had made such a bad decision in my job, it would be in
jeapordy. While, I am sure, the city "fathers" made their decisions in good
faith, it is no excuse. Indeed it further proves that they do not have the
resources to lead our city.

I would like to hear discussion about downtown revitalization, about
highway 95 and the state bypass plans, about funding the Community Center,
about public parks, about city planning, about taxation, and about building
community. Not dividing it, which seems to be the plan.

This issue has taken up too much time and citizen energy. Meanwhile, as we
grumble and steam, what is going on in Moscow?

Sincerely,

Roger Hayes
