Vision 2020,
As a member of the Moscow Transportation Commission, I receive questions
each Spring from residents asking when the City will stripe crosswalks and
bikelanes. During the past two years, the Transportation Commission
received reports from the City Street Supervisor, Mike McGahan, that in the
Spring crosswalks and bikelanes receive the highest priority for painting
followed by auto lane striping, stop bars, turn lanes, etc. The City must
wait until the weather is warm enough for the paint to stick. This year,
painting started in our area in March by the Idaho Transportation
Department, the University of Idaho and the City of Pullman.
If you would like more explanation about the timeline of Moscow crosswalk
and bike lane striping, please contact the Moscow City Street Supervisor by
calling 883-7096. This number can also be used to report crosswalks or
bikelanes that are particularly hard to identify.
Thanks,
Tom
