Greetings:
I am disappointed that my campaign has come to symbolize a power struggle
between different population segments in our community. I would like to ask
"all" to please practice prudence and caution when sending letters to the
editor or elsewhere. I am very fond of many of the people who take their
children to Logos and attend Christ Church. I have had many positive
experiences and interaction with many of these folks. I am equally fond of
many who enroll their children in the public schools and attend church
elsewhere.
I suspect we all have more in common than we disagree about. At the top of
this list of items in common would be the welfare of our children. What is
the best in terms of education is subject to interpretation and personal
preference. I respect others' opinions even when I don't agree.
I will not ask anyone to keep their opinions to themselves. I believe we
can convey our beliefs to others in a respectful manner and I encourage all
to stick to the high road.
I view the school board trustee role as an opportunity to serve my children
and the community which has graciously supported my business. I have
expressed many of my view points on the issues at hand, but I am happy to
address any issues that remain unclear in terms of my position or point of
view.
I fear my opponent's lack of clarification regarding his agenda has
contributed to the divisiveness of this campaign. I highly encourage Mr.
Beauchamp to speak clearly on his
positions and let the collective wisdom of the voters decide the make up of
the board of trustees.
Sincerely,
Tim Kinkeade
