For those who want to relive their 10th grade experience, and for those
who wonder what 10th grade is like today, novelist Joseph Weisberg is
coming to town....
Bookpeople will host a reading and discussion by Joseph Weisberg at 8pm
on Thursday, May 23. Refreshments will be provided by Bookpeople and
MaryJanesFarm.
Weisberg will read from his first novel, “10th Grade,” which was
published by Random House in January. He is on a national book tour to
promote his novel about a year in the life of a New Jersey schoolboy.
Weisberg lives in New York City and teaches seminars on storytelling
and writing to high school students.
While in Moscow, Weisberg will visit four 10th grade English classes at
Moscow High School for readings and discussions on Friday, May 24.
Weisberg’s novel has been favorably reviewed nationwide.
In the New York Times: “In a coming-of-age story ultimately shaped by
sexual awakening, Mr. Weisberg fondly and hilariously brings every tiny
detail to life.”
In the Chicago Tribune: “Several passages made me laugh out
loud…Weisberg has written a charming, utterly American first novel.”
