Dear Visionaries,
Here are two messages I received from
Walter Hesford of the University of Idaho and Joann Muneta, chair of the Latah
Co. Human Rights Task Force. I thought these would be great events for
visionaries to enjoy!
Please note that anyone interested is always
welcome at the meetings of the Human Rights Task Force!
Check some of these out!
All the best,
Linda Pall

Everyone is
invited to the Juan Barco Ensemble Concert Wed, April 3,
7:30, SUB Ballroom,
UI Campus; in addition to playing songs related to
migrant workers, the
ensemble will also play a variety of traditional Latino
musical styles.
Mr. Barco is a master of the bajo sexto--a 12 string bass
guitar used in
Tejano music.
The Juan Barco
Trio will present "A Migrant Life in Song." The Latah County Human
Rights Task Force is sponsoring this on Thursday, April 4 for
Moscow
High School at 10:35 (auditorium) and at the Moscow Jr. High
(mulit-purpose room) at 2pm. You are welcome to attend. Thanks to Kristine
Petterson and Susan Hodgin, Moscow teachers, for arranging these
programs.
And in the evening of Thursday, April 4 a BRIDGING THE GAP
PARTY: Honoring our Chican/Latino/Hispanic Communities
Music and Dancing with
Juan Barco Trio +2
7pm to 11pm at the Unitarian Church 2nd and Van Buren in
Moscow
FREE - Come and bring your friends
This was put together by Jim
and Bertie Weddell who were inspired by meeting some of our Latino friends at
the MLK Breakfast.
Remember Yolanda Bisbee saying "don't count us,
communicate with us" - this is a great chance to do just
that.
The next meeting of the Human Rights Task Force is Sat.
April 13 at 10am in the meeting room at Jack in the Box on Third Street/Pullman
Road.
Next event for the Task Force is sponsoring Living Voices
presentation about Japanese American relocation during WWII. This will be
Sunday, April 21 at the Moscow Jr. High Multi-Purpose Room. We are sponsoring
this with the Palouse Asian American Association. Pot luck at 5:30pm and program
at 7pm.
You can get more information about any of these events from Joann
Muneta, 882-3648.
