RE: when you are up to your *** in alligators,....trolley for downtown
For the sake of this thread, perhaps we should define "parking problem".
Some business owners as well as patrons see anything not immediately in
front of their destination as a "parking problem".
As a downtown business owner I disagree that there is a parking problem.
There is a downtown "employee parking problem" though. There seems to be a
phobia of having to walk more than a block or two.
I could elaborate on this but I don't want to mess up the Moscow Police
revenue projections with respect to tickets issued after the three hours is
up.
I am in favor of mass transit including a trolley.

The user component of the downtown study showed that patrons do not perceive
parking as a problem. However, business owners did state hat parking was a
significant problem. DuFresne-Henry thought this discrepancy might be
caused because employees and business owners must move their cars every
three hours. It was a surprise that over 60% of the business owners did not
know they could buy a parking sticker from the City that would allow them
unlimited access. If you would like a copy of the tabulation of the
business owner/property owner survey and the client survey, please e-mail me

No problem with the trolley proposal but am I mistaken or did I see in the
paper that the downtown consultants did not find a downtown "parking
problem." I know that I never have to park more than a quarter block from
where I am going. It would probably be too negative to bring up downtown
business employee parking on this venue.
