Since when was Clinton's Janet Reno a defender of either the Constitution OR our civil liberties? A large number of innocent women and children burned to death in an operation in which the US military was used against American civilians (in direct violation of Posse Comitatus,) evidence was destroyed, etc. etc. This pointless, needless operation which went under the BATF code name "Operation Showtime," was later found to have been undertaken in order to justify BATF budget increases. By the way, all negotiation experts consulted in this matter opined that the tactics pursued would only lead to disaster and needless loss of life. A peaceful conclusion to this matter that could have been achieved by simp!
ly waiting the Branch Davidians out would have made for a boring ending to the "show" I suppose. Janet offered to resign after this disaster, but Clinton just patted her on the back and kept her on.

Well, if the above is true, then the more things change the more things the more they stay the same. Clinton's Secy. of the Treasury was the former head of Goldman Sachs, one of the largest, if not the largest Wall Street investment firms i!
n the country, it would be difficult to imagine a more corporate-orien
ted adviser for such a powerful position. Also, look at the pocket stuffing of Terry McCauliffe---Clinton's hand picked head of the Democratic National Committee--and his pocket stuffing shenanigans with Global Crossing. If that situation doesn't mirror the Enron scandal then nothing does. In the interest of brevity, I won't even go into the Chinese fundraising scandals and the resulting transfers of restricted satellite technology but they were no picnic either as you know but seem to have forgotten.
As for the anti-union legislation, Clinton was the prime mover against almost all trade agreements such as NAFTA, WTO, GATT, etc. etc. Clinton's position on these agreements was diametrically opposed to that of organized labor, which put the defeat of these agreements at the top of their agenda. Further, as a Democrat, he was the key to their passage. Without a Democrat gladhanding and dishing out pork to insure their passage, these agreements would have !
never had enough Congressional support. If Clinton was a friend of the rank and file worker, then the union agenda doesn't need enemies.

Well, Duncan it appears to you've been napping for quite a while. As you must know, war had ALREADY been declared on the US years ago by the Al Qaeda network. It's just that the Clinton administration chose to do little or nothing about apprehending these characters. But battles were already being fought of course. The WTC had already been bombed by them. They had bombed a couple of African embassies causing great loss of life. Then they once again brought their war to downtown NYC in a much more deadly manner this time and are apparently now planning attacks against nuclear power plants and etc. The NYC attack was in th!
e planning for years and the principals were allowed to come and go ac
ross our borders while they collected intelligence and pretty much anything else they wanted. &n!
bsp; War is not peace just because one side chooses to call it that.
