Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Service Awards
During the 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration in January,
special awards will be presented to an outstanding undergraduate, graduate
student, faculty member, staff member and community member at WSU and
the UI. There are many individuals in our community who deserve to be
recognized for their commitment to ethnic diversity. To be considered for
this prestigious award, they must be nominated by a friend, colleague, or
family member.
If you know of local people truly making a positive difference in promoting
racial equality, please let us know about them. Just think how honored
they will be to be recognized during a very special occasion. The
nomination process is quick and simple. You can download the nomination
form from our website at www.wsu.edu/multicultural.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, January 10, 2002. If
you have any questions, please contact Steve Nakata at 335-7852. Don't
forget to plan to attend the MLK Celebration on January 22, 2002, 7:00 pm,
in Beasley Coliseum. A Unity March will precede the program at 5:45 p.m.
starting in front of Holland Library.
