I guess when I read this I heard "It amazes me that ... not everyone is 
likeminded on this!" Given the nature of this listserve--the free and open 
exchange of ideas and concerns--it doesn't strike me as particularly amazing. 
On the contrary, the disagreements and diverse perspectives are helpful and 
interesting--even when I interpret things differently. 

I appreciate considering a multitude of factors that are not limited to 
dollars, but include such things as the impact on bicyclists and pedestrians 
(and even cars), neighborhood concerns, asthetics, and other factors which have 
been mentioned in this discussion.
