1. Canvass of Election Results - Chris Bainbridge
ACTION: Accept tabulation of votes prepared by the election judges and
clerks and the canvass as herein provided as a result of the November 6,
2001 City General and Special Bond Election, and declare as elected, the
mayoral candidate receiving the highest number of votes, the following
three councilmember candidates receiving the highest number of votes; and
declare the results of the Fire Bond Issue:
TOP MAYORAL CANDIDATE:
Marshall H. Comstock (71.94%)
TOP THREE COUNCILMEMBER CANDIDATES:
JoAnn Mack (28.94%)
Peg Hamlett (27.17%)
John Guyer (24.26%)
CANVASS OF FIRE BOND ISSUE: Needed to pass: a two-thirds majority of the
qualified electors of the City voting therein in favor of the issuance of
the bonds.
Total qualified electors voting on issue: 3,282
Required to pass: 2/3rd of 3,282 votes cast
IN FAVOR: 2,241 ( 70.45%)
AGAINST: 940 ( 29.55%
