Sorry if I'm repeating myself here; it seems like I sent in a message like 
this to v2020 just a few months ago.  Which proves my point:

My father was involved in local politics for a number of years in Ohio.  I 
never read a newspaper article of significant length covering a known issue 
that did not have some substantial error of fact.  When he retired after 
twelve years as township trustee, they put another man's photo with the 
article.  Thanks a lot.

This is, in part, a function of a young staff, low pay, high turnover, 
short deadlines, etc.  Not to say that this was the case with the article 
in this instance.  But I find it hard to consider a newspaper a reliable 
source for any information, due to the problems with the medium.  As my 
relatives from Yugoslavia would say, "The only thing in the papers that you 
can believe is the obituaries.  Maybe."
