Alchemy Ventures Ltd. (ALY:CDNX) is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the
upcoming Northwest Clay Symposium and wishes to provide information
on this conference to the public.
Northwest Clay Symposium
The economic potential for development of the billions of tons of
high alumina clay contained in the Latah Formation along the
Idaho-Washington border has long been recognized. This resource of
kaolinite and halloysite is one of the largest in the world. It is
currently under utilized in both domestic and export fields, but may
provide the basis for regional economic growth.
Northwest Mining Association, Lewiston Chamber of Commerce, Alchemy
Ventures Ltd. and Sacajawea Inn are pleased to present the first
annual forum for development of the clay resources of the Latah
Kaolin Belt. The meeting will be held in Lewiston, Idaho, 10 March
2001 at the Sacajawea Motor Inn, 1824 Main St., Lewiston, ID 83501.
Presentations at the meeting will include:
- Idaho Department of Lands, Land status along the clay belt.
- Idaho Geological Survey, Clay Deposits of the Latah Clay Belt.
- Port of Lewiston, Transportation facilities on the Columbia Snake System.
- Alchemy Ventures Ltd., The Helmer Bovill clay deposits.
- Hedco, The Helmer Clay pit.
- IDL, Deary Resource Area, Permitting on State Lands for clay.
Additional presentations by County and State Economic Development
officials and other clay and industrial minerals producers along the
belt are also planned.
