Re: Veterans preference in Idaho universities
Idaho Code 65-502 requires all state, county and municipal governments to
give preference in hiring to all veterans who served more than 180 days, or
have a service connected disability, provided that the application for
employment is submitted within 120 days after discharge. There are some
other twists in the law, but there is, at least, some statuatory preference.
The university arbitrarily exempts itself from the state competitive bidding
laws, so perhaps it feels that it can ignore this law also.
