Response to Gore's concession

TALLAHASSEE -- [Florida] House Speaker Tom Feeney
apologized Thursday for calling Al Gore "a loser"
during the vice president`s concession speech
Wednesday
night.

Feeney, a Republican from Oviedo, made the remarks
at a private party thrown by House Republicans at a
Tallahassee restaurant.  He was unaware that a
reporter
from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel was in the
restaurant and heard his comments.

As Gore delivered his speech, Feeney said, "What a
loser." He later called the concession "an evil
speech."
