Last weekend to see 'Romeo & Juliet'

Visionaries:
If you're looking for something to do this weekend in between various
holiday parties, consider attending "Romeo & Juliet" at the UI's Hartung
Theatre. This is unlike any stage or film version of R&J that you've
ever seen.

Directed by visiting professor Nike Imoru, this is a contemporary
telling of the classic story, with a stunning set and lots of on-stage
movement. I saw the play last weekend and found it stimulating and
thought provoking. (UI President Bob Hoover has a cameo role in the
opening scene as the Chorus, the narrator who gives the background of
the feud between the Montagues and Capulets.)

The play begins at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are available at the Hartung box office an hour before show
time.

One cautionary note: the play runs nearly four hours (with one
intermission), so if you're not used to staying up late, you might
consider the Sunday matinee. But the second act moves briskly and will
keep you on the edge of your seat.

(If you have already seen the play, I'm curious to learn your reaction
to it. Please write to me off-list.)
