This may be of interest to visionaries, landowners, foresters, etc.  I worked with American Forests in a previous life - they generally do good work.

  Seeking Wildfire ReLeaf Projects
-----------------------------------------------------------------

AMERICAN FORESTS is now accepting proposals for planting projects
in areas scorched by this summer's wildfires. It's part of the
organization's new "Wildfire ReLeaf" program sponsored by
specialty retailer Eddie Bauer. The deadline for proposals is
January 17, 2001. For more information visit:
http://www.americanforests.org/garden/global_releaf/wildfires/wf_grants.html

Also, Heather Campbell, special projects forester in the Global
ReLeaf Center, can answer any questions you may have about applying
for a Global ReLeaf Forest grant to reforest an area damaged by
wildfire or other causes. Her email address is: hcampbell@amfor.org.

Support Wildfire ReLeaf: "Add a dollar, Plant a tree" with Eddie
Bauer by making an online purchase through the company's website,
www.eddiebauer.com.
