Minimum Wage for Farm Workers

Visonaries:  The Interim Committee on Minimum Wage for Farm Workers met on
Friday in Boise.
The Committee agreed that something has to be done with the minimum wage
and agreed to meet
in October where all of the various proposals will be discussed.  A
compromise plan that would
make the Idaho law similar to the federal law will probably be presented.
If this compromise
includes all farmers under the law and sufficient enforcement is provided
then Farm Worker
Advocates estimate that about 95% of farm workers would be covered by the
minimum wage.
