RE: $5 million windfall
My dearest friends,
While I agree with the friends who think the money should be invested I
would like to remind the friends that our development of the community is
certainly an investment. I agree that we should not spend it all and that we
should start some sort of a fund for P&R. it would be nice to take advantage
of the markets today and increase the return of the investment. Maybe some
of the money should be invested in "safer" funds and some in higher return
funds. I am by no means an expert but I would think there are some among us
who may contribute their expertise for investments of this fund. It would be
a great thing if we could use this gracious contribution to create the means
for funding the parks projects for decades to come.
Your brother in arms,
Shahab...

Subject: $5 million windfall
Visionaries,
I'm interested in your opinion.
What is the best process for deciding how to use the generous bequest from
Bob Hamilton?
And, given that the city must use the money for youth and for parks and
recreation, what are the highest priority projects?
Thanks, Priscilla Salant
