Re: Public Forum on Farmworker Minimum Wage Issues

The University of Idaho “Big Bill Haywood” Chapter of
the National Lawyer’s Guild presents a public forum on
Farmworker Minimum Wage and related farmworker issues
on Monday, 31 January 2000 at 5 p.m. in room 103,
University of Idaho, College of Law, Sixth and
Rayburn, Moscow.
Rachel Winer, a field coordinator with United Vision
for Idaho, will be presenting a short documentary on
Farmworker Issues in Idaho and then will speak on the
subject of a minimum wage for all farmworkers in
Idaho. Ms. Winer will be available for questions and
discussion as well.
Ms. Winer received her law degree from Lewis and
Clark University Law School and has worked on special
projects for several environmental organizations in
Idaho and Oregon prior to joining United Vision for
Idaho in November, 1998.
United Vision for Idaho, a coalition of grassroots
organizations, was formally launched in October, 1995.
The mission of United Vision for Idaho is to pursue
statewide and local strategies in coalitions among
grassroots organizations which:
(1) Promote education and understanding of public
policy which allow every
person in Idaho to live with dignity and security in a
healthy environment;
(2) Build lasting relationships and open communication
among coalition members
at the community level;
(3) Promote public dialogue on the common values of
coalition members; and
(4) Help coalition members empower their
constituencies to participate in democracy.
This event is free and open to the public
