I'll put in my two cents, worth exactly as much as B. London's free advice:
I'll verify the exceptional quality of the staff at Gritman, the maternity
ward in particular. The birth of my son was one of the best experiences of
my life and the professionalism and genuine care given by the Birth Center
really enhanced the experience. Second, the argument that one must
sacrifice quality, cost, or access to gain on any one of the three doesn't
show a lot of imagination. As they say in Missouri, "show me". Third, I'd
be willing to give up a little "pride of place" to have quality,
inexpensive, accessible health care. Hey, I might even be willing to give
up a little payroll tax to make that portable nationally!
