While processing horseradish this past weekend I was reminded of how much
really good food we can grow here on the Palouse. The many small-scale
farmers, market gardeners, and home gardeners grow a huge variety of great
produce. The garlic I've grown here is the best I've ever used. With that
in mind I'd like to propose that we bring in a series of chef's who can
demonstrate how to use all this wonderful, fresh, seasonal, local produce.
People along the line ofAlice Waters of Chez Panisse who bases the cuisine
of her restaurant on fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce and some of the
chefs of the Napa/Sonoma region who do the same. Anyone else think this
is a good idea? Anyone have contacts in the world of chefs? Anyone
willing to help raise money for this? If so, contact me and let's get
started.
