I think in many respects, Vision 2020 also qualifies as a news source,
although not in the traditional sense of the word.

Moscow also used to have a weekly news radio show, Weekly Scan, on KUOI FM,
before the station manager "fired" the reporter, Leigh Robartes. Manager
Lauren Finn stated to me and in the station newsletter that he would be
pushing for a weekly news program, and eventually, a daily news
program. This has pretty much been an empty promise.

Anyone not familiar with Leigh's reporting will have the opportunity to
hear it soon. Pacifica Network News will be carrying Leigh's on-the-scene
coverage of the Forest Service's Orofino hearing on Clinton's road
moratorium proposal. KUOI, although it does ban Leigh from local
reporting, has not yet censored his syndicated journalism. The segment
will probably run on Pacifica Network News on Monday at 3:00 and 6:00
PM. Tune into KUOI-FM, 89.7, for the report.

I think the quality of our local news sources is a legitimate topic of
conversation on this list. Of particular interest is the result that major
corporate ownership has on the quality of reporting. Thank you for an
implicit message on this in your posting.
