If you haven't gone to this play yet, it's not too late. The Mineola
Twins, by Paula Vogel, is twice the laughs with Carlie Canaday playing both
Myra and Myrna, "almost identical" twins. The show continues Friday and
Saturday nights at 7:30pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm. Despite no
story in yesterday's Arts section of the Daily News, plan on sell out
crowds at the smaller Kiva Theater. (Tickets are available at the UI
Ticket Office, or an hour before show time at the door.)
The Kiva is located on the second floor of the Education Building at the UI
(it's the mushroom/flying saucer located behind the Administration
Building). The parking lot has been full, so allow plenty of time to get
there. The show is directed by City Council Member Pam Palmer, MFA
candidate at UI, and also features Katherine Scheighardt as Jim/Sarah, and
Joe Probasco as Kenny/Ben.
The show has been entered for regional and national competition in the
Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Enjoy the show!
