In my recent tax bill from Latah County was included a brochure entitled
"Twelve Steps to Disaster Preparedness". The second and third steps suggest
storing 30 days of food and water (that's 1 gallon per day for each member
of the family). I don't know about the rest of you but that amount of stuff
would take up most of the second floor of my small house! This leaflet does
not say what kind of disasters we should be preparing for but from the
timing I assume this is Y2K related (or maybe this is just a coincidence?).
I'm planning to have a few extra days of food and water and a small amount
of extra cash on hand but 30 days worth - I don't think so!
Thanks, Charles.
