But there is something to be said for representative democracy.  I don't 
have enough time to understand zoning, budgeting, contracting, etc.  If I 
had an instant way to place votes on all matters before the city, state, 
and federal governments, I still wouldn't have the time.  That's what we 
pay our elected officials to do, understand these issues and give them the 
time and consideration they deserve.  Of course, I frequently end up with 
elected officials that I did not choose, but I don't know that I would win 
many votes in an electronic democracy, either.
