This seems like a wonderful opportunity for those of us who
have brought a little one home in the past and could listen/share our
experiences with new parents. There are many new parents who are also new
to the community and may not have immediate family for that extra support
that is so critical in the first few months. I can remember feeling
overwhelmed at times and it might have helped if I could have connected
with a more experienced parent . We are fortunate to have a community
filled with nice, bright and beautiful children. My guess is that their
skilled and thoughtful parents are somewhere close by! The First Steps
Program seems like a natural, community support network that can
connect some of our most valuable assets to one another.
