FYI-
There is an electronic petition now circulating regarding Corridor
development. If you are interested, here is info about it...BL
Dear friends and concerned citizens;
If you are concerned about the County’s attempt to rezone the
Pullman/Moscow corridor for strip development, then please
sign the web petition below. You have received this email as a
friend of mine that has expressed like-minded concerns in the
past, or a mutual friend has forwarded you the original email.
The Whitman County Planning Commission has recommend to the Whitman Country
Commissioners that an ordinance be passed that would open up development in
the corridor with very few land use restrictions by the county. Allowable
uses would include car dealerships, jails, hotels, RV sales and service,
boats sales, tire sales and restaurants. In addition to harming the
dowtown economies of Pullman and Moscow, such development would encourage
urban sprawl and damage the recreational value of the Bill Chipman Trail.
Please forward this petition to your friends. This petition can
only become forceful through many signatures. The livability of
our community depends on it. If you sign up, I will keep you
updated by email on the Pullman/Moscow corridor including the
times and dates of meetings, decisions by the Commissioners,
and information on writing letters and phone calling the
Commissioners.
The petition is at < http://lbfc.palouse.net/corridor_petition2.htm >.
When you forward this email to others, please include your actual
name in the heading so others can recognize you as a friend. It is
best to cut and paste this email into the text of a new email (instead
using the forward button) to prevent the distracting ">>"..
We have defeated this ordinance in past years, and we can win
again! Or at least signicantly minimize the damage.
In solidarity,
Bryan E. Burke
