RE: who is responsible?

Teresa,
I would be willing to predict that the students who did the shooting, their
parents, the teachers and
administrators, and other students all will be singled out for provoking,
allowing, or not preventing this tragedy. When people get anxious,
scapegoats are found. On the other hand, the NRA, Hollywood and the rest of
us will wash our hands of any responsibility for the violence prone society
we promote and tolerate. I hope you are right, but I am not hopeful at the
moment.

Yes- and as I said below, I don't feel anyone is looking for who is to
blame.....

Teresa,
In a system of interdependence, each group is responsible and no group is
to blame. Any one group can stop this tragic cycle of violence by accepting
responsibility for their own contribution to the system. For my part, I am
speaking out against the availability of hand guns and assault weapons.

I don't think that anyone is trying to really find the "blame"- but the
root
of what causes someone to do something so horrific- so we can figure out
what steps to take!

Can we get beyond blame in this discussion and suggest positive steps?
