Visionaries:
The Saturday edition of the Daily News has a front page story about a warrant
issued in connection with the Pullman-Ford burglaries and subsequent theft of
weapons.
The 48 year-old suspect is wanted all over the place and has been previously
convicted in California and Oregon.
So where's the mug shot?
I'm glad the DN followed up on this story but they fell on their faces by not
running the suspect's photo. Instead, we're left with a jump to the back page
and a pathetic last paragraph description of height, weight, and hair and eye
color. Good luck. What a way to engage the public in finding this guy,
especially since he's considered "extremely dangerous."
Didn't the DN even feel the responsibility to list an ex-con's tattoos and
scars off his rap sheet? How about bumping a day-old dead violinist story to
the back page and put a real-time bandit photo up front?
