I am very aware of the shortcomings and danger of Highway 95 between
Lewiston and Moscow, having commuted the route every weekday for over
ten years. I definitely see a need to evaluate that stretch of
highway's safety/engineering (current passing lanes, lack of signage
and turn lanes, keeping lines painted, SNOW REMOVAL and so forth) and
to do so soon. However I am certainly not convinced that the most
rational use of funds would be to turn the Genesee-Moscow part of the
road into a four-laner.
Much can be done to improve safety without such a drastic and costly
project.
For me the question is how can commuters such as myself provide some
input on making changes to improve a very hazardous highway? Tom
Trail, any suggestions?
