Re: Toll Roads

(Written in response to a comment, not copied to Vision2020, that a
serious suggestion on how to improve Hwy 95 would be in order, and more
appreciated than sarcasm.)

That's a fair comment. I'd start by working for (and hoping for) fair
treatment when road funds in Idaho are divvied up. As it is, an
influential Republican legislator from Pocatello wants to cut the gas tax
4 cents because, he says, the state's roads now have been brought up to
satisfactory condition. The Lewiston Trib agreed: The roads around
Pocatello are great.

We already finance our roads with what amounts to tolls: The more you
drive, the more gas tax you pay. We just haven't got our fair share of the
proceeds, maybe.

I am as opposed to making Hwy 95 a toll road as I am to charging user fees
at the public library. (People just go there and read for free!)
