If gas stations charge more for gas because we are isolated here in Moscow
and can get away with it, we object and suggest boycotts or buying gas in Troy.

If a toy store charges more for a toy in Moscow and we buy it on the
internet because it is less expensive, we are not good citizens.

Besides admonishing people to buy locally, what can the local business
development people do to help local businesses be more competitive? Is price
the major issue, or is selection the issue?

by the way, not only do some of us have internet presences and bring money
into Moscow that way, but some of us here in Moscow have products that are
sold in places like amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com and get money brought
into Moscow as a result of those sales.
