Fort Collins has a successful First Night (I believe that a Boston group
owns the rights to the name)...  more than 30 venues with something like
200 performing groups.  It's sponsored by the Downtown Business
Association.   You need a button to get in to the major events, which
cost $7 before Christmas and $9 after Christmas.  Kids under 12 get in
free, and there are a lot of kids' events, including a "countdown to
midnight" at 4 p.m. for folks who can't stay up that late.  Thousands of
people attend, and there's a fireworks display at midnight.
I'll be happy to send a program of this year's event to anyone
interested in looking into it for Moscow.
