Hmmm. Slavery as practiced in the good ol' USA? The will of 67% of the
people can be just as oppressive as the will of any individul tyrant with all
the power. Only 50 years ago we rounded up all the Japanese and put them into
camps. 50 years. We come a long way since then, baby!

For longer than it's been approved of, the idea of all people getting to vote
was readily disapproved of. Just because we're experimenting with it, it
doesn't mean it is the most perfect form of government. Anyone who would
claim, and you didn't, that we don't have problems in this country would be
crazy. (Maybe we should put them in charge...)

I had no other point than challenging the poster's idea that anything
"undemocratic" was bad. "Democracy" does NOT imply "Good".
