Replacing the Micro

Former Moscow resident Ed Clark (now at Potsdam, New York) was a regular
customer of the Micro Moviehouse. He recently sent me a message about
his idea for a replacement for the Micro here in Moscow.

Is anyone interested in pursuing his suggestion?

A thought for you who can't live without the good flicks. I am on
>>the board of an organization called "Cinema 10." It is 25 years old
this
>>year. We show 10 films each semester on Monday nights. We show them at
a
>>local theatre who rents us the space and helps to acquire some of the
>>movies. We sell season passes and tickets at the door. The board pours
>>through lists of recommendations and reads over lots of reviews and we
vote
>>on selections. Our coordinator is paid some and so is the treasurer.
>>Everyone else is volunteer and there are about thirteen of us. We
currently
>>have an ongoing grant from the state arts council which helps us to
cover
>>costs. At the moment we are in the black. None of this could ever be
the
>>"Micro" but it has possibilities as an alternative. It would take a
bit to
>>get it rolling but once going I think it gains its own momentum. Bob,
if he
>>were interested would probably be the ideal choice
>>for exec.director because he knows the ropes and the celluloid so
well.
>>Anyway it is just an idea. --Ed Clark
