Alleged Wyoming hate crime

Visionaries,

The brutal murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming has sparked a national
discussion about enacting federal legislation against hate crimes committed
toward a person based on that person's race, color, sexual orientation or
national origin. Presently, Wyoming is one of nine states which does not
have hate crime legislation. Idaho has hate crime legislation, but sexual
orientation is not in the hate crime category.

I believe that we should enact federal legislation to uniformly enforce
punishment across the nation in cases involving hate crimes.
