Maybe someone else will respond because I can't remember it exactly.
But in a letter to the editor he formulated something like: the
calculations of the pool committee project a $15,000 profit for the
pool (operating costs only) at the end of its first year of
operations. I do remember the wager pretty exactly, I think. It is
if the pool makes $7,500, he will donate that amount to a charity of
the pool committee's choice. If it fails to make at least $7,500, the
committee members must donate $7,500 to the Foundation for Economic
Education, a libertarian economic think-tank (whose classes I have
attended, BTW. A very worthwhile organization.)
Sounds reasonable to me. Any takers on the committee?
