I'm not at all suprised that this story was done in parody.  I, too doubt
that any study was commissioned.  What is interesting to me is the simple
truth that a gallon of gasoline is cheaper than a gallon of milk. It is a
comparison that I have been using for years to point out how cheap gasoline
is in our country.  We grumble about every minor shift in gas prices here
but it is still basically dirt cheap.
