Three cheers for Linda Pall's column in the M-P DAILY NEWS
weekend edition. If you haven't read it, and are at all interested
in the questions surrounding the pool, I suggest that you fetch a
paper now. Linda's column alone is worth the $ and a trip to a paper
stand if you don't subscribe.
Once again Linda gives a "big picture" look at an issue. Her
support for a multi-use center is well worth considering, and her
ideas well-stated as usual.
I do wonder if the same purposes could be accomplished, perhaps
even more economically, with a series of smaller centers in various
neighborhoods. NO! I know what you're thinking! I'm not so out of
touch as to suggest multiple swimming pools. I'm referring to the
other facilities mentioned in the column.
Just a personal hang-up I guess, but I prefer
decentralization of facilities to a huge, sprawling, asphalt parking
lot-ed, all-in-one megaplex. The human scale thingy don'tcha see?
No edifice complex here. Just a thought.
And oh yeah, THANKS LINDA!
